For the past half year I have been exchanging e-mail with a Belgian called Jeffrey. Itīs been a nice way to learn more about the people in Belgium.

Jeffrey has told me about life in Belgium through his own life and I cherish the things Iīve learnt about and the knowledge I have been given. He has enlightend me of his own musical taste and of whats popular in Belgium, the same goes for sports and other things like that too.

More or less we have been discussing worldly things like Kosovo and national problems in our countries. In my comprehension Belgium and Finland arenīt that different from each other. Of course there are cultural differences but I suppose the opening doors of Europe have brought the same kind of winds to both Belgium and Finland.

I was really impressed by how Jeffrey wished me all the best in his last letter. And truly that is what I hope for him too.

Thanks to the e-mail project I came in touch with Emma Ikonen, she is a Finnish girl of 18 and lives in Sipoo. I am also 18 and I am from Belgium.

Emma and I have the same interests. We both like animals and wintertime. She likes horse back riding and enjoyes the winter. Emma lives in the countryside. She likes to rollerskate home from school but in the winter she can’t so she goes jogging. I think I would get along with Emma.
